Google continues to solidify itself as an all-in-one travel planning tool. The company has recently announced that they will be introducing new features to support travel and leisure businesses as they bounce back after over a year and a half of disruption.

Google’s new features will help businesses stand out and expand their reach even further by providing users with new ways to discover attractions, tours and activities on Search.

Hotel Booking Links

Google has announced the launch of booking links which will allow hotels to drive more traffic to their websites by displaying their direct booking rates and availability on Google Hotel Search and Google Maps. Users will be able to compare a property’s room rates across various platforms, and take further actions to book their stay.

Ticket Booking Links

According to Google’s latest announcement, in addition to showing general information when user’s search for attractions, it will also show free booking links for experiences in a destination. For example, booking links for tickets and reservations for wine tasting in Paris or bike tours in California.

Introducing Things To Do Ads

Google will also be introducing a new paid product for travel and leisure businesses: Things To Do Ads. These new ads will appear above search results when users search for tours, activities and local attractions.

Things To Do Ads also include details such as images, reviews, pricing, booking links for activities in search results allowing businesses to to reach travelers that have shown an interest in a particular destination.

Eco-Certified Badges for Hotel Listings

Google’s newly launched feature allows users to find hotels that meet high standards of sustainability. Google will place an “eco-certified badge” next to hotels it has verified are making efforts to reduce their carbon footprint. Having an eco-certified badge will enable hotels to distinguish themselves from their competitors while creating a unique selling point for environmentally conscious travelers.
